The Pattern of Tyranny: From Stalin to Hitler

With his pig mask off, Napoleon is Joseph Stalin, the fierce dictator who ruled Russia from 1924 until 1953- only twenty-nine years. But those years were practically an eternity for millions of Russians who spent Stalin’s reign of terror as Soviet slaves. They never knew when they might be arrested and shot in the back of the head (without a trial), or arrested and sent to a Siberian prison camp where the overwhelming odds were that they would die of starvation, overwork, and the cold.

Joseph Stalin and the German dictator Adolf Hitler had much in common. Both men worshipped power, and once they had absolute power, they both became cruel tyrants, and rotten to the core of their depraved souls

 “Power corrupts, and absolute power

                                         corrupts absolutely.”

                                             -Lord Acton

Today we are undeniably at the end of 6,000 years of history, most of which has seen the reigns of tyrants and kings who have exhibited the same lust for power as Stalin or Hitler. This history will culminate in the Second Coming of our great God and Savior. Jesus Christ will come again, just as He promised so many times before. Being God Himself, Jesus keeps His promises to His bride.

“I go to prepare a place for you…that where I am you might be also.”

                                               John 14: 2 and 3

But before Jesus returns, there will be God’s deserved judgment on the world, a seven-year event known as The Tribulation, a time on earth, God promises, that will be worse than the Flood of Noah’s time.

What the Bible Says About the Antichrist

Revelation tells us that the first of twenty-one overlapping judgments will be the appearance of a man who will rule the entire earth, a political feat never before accomplished. This man will negotiate a brilliant Middle East peace plan that will include permission for the Jews to build a Third Temple on Jerusalem’s Mount Moriah. That land is currently claimed by the Muslims, but both prophets Daniel and John the Apostle prophesied that the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt.

Satan will give the antichrist power and the ability, through great signs and wonders, to convince the people that he is for them and they can trust him. But he will be the antichrist, possessed by Satan, and no one should trust him, ever. At one point he will fake his own death. The whole world will see him die and come back to life again. Seeing that the antichrist is like Jesus, the people of the world will worship him. Once enthroned, once he has the power, the antichrist will become a vicious beast, killing Christians and Jews by the millions. He will turn his back on the Jews he befriended and will try to massacre them all, but a remnant will escape his grasp and flee into the desert.

Like Stalin and Hitler, the antichrist will be proud of his deceptions, and he will cast truth down to the ground. Like Hitler and Satan, he will exalt himself above God. More than once, at rallies throughout Germany, Hitler shouted to the German people, “I am Adolf Hitler, Savior of the German race!” The antichrist will speak against God. He will exemplify the rebellious, godless, and lawless spirit of our time.

Modern Echoes: Lawlessness and the Spirit of the Antichrist

Olivia Krolczyk is a woman who has experienced this lawless spirit. In 2025, Olivia was speaking at the University of Washington in Seattle. Her topic was the unfair transgender agenda, which has enabled men to compete with women in sports. Here in her own words is what happened next, “A mob of 200 screaming leftists attacked. They closed off the roads. They surrounded the building. They blocked the entrance and exits. The agitators vandalized the building, pulled fire alarms, and broke windows in the classroom where I was speaking. They shined lights in my face and screamed that I was a Nazi.”

“There were ten university police officers there to protect me, but we were greatly outnumbered by the mob. …Finally, to keep me safe, the police officers dressed me up in their police gear and sneaked me out of the building.”

In our world today, such bold lawlessness has become the norm on our college campuses, and soon it will be the norm in the entire country, and even the whole world. Peoples’ hearts have been prepared for the coming of the antichrist.

You see, most of the people of the world will listen and believe the Beast’s sinister schemes and lies. As part of His judgment on unbelieving mankind, God will give the world over to the antichrist. But no matter what happens, no matter how much the antichrist persecutes Christians, the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever. No matter that the antichrist makes war on our brothers, no matter that he will seemingly prevail. He will come to his end. The antichrist is not immortal, and just as Hitler and Stalin came to the end of their lives, so the antichrist and all the armies opposed to Jesus will come to nothing at the last battle, the Battle of Armageddon.

Ecumenism: A Deceptive Unity?

When he appears, do not follow after the antichrist. Your place in eternity depends upon you not believing the antichrist’s message. He will deceive billions of people through the worldwide religion of ecumenism, the belief that all of mankind can worship God together in their own way. The Muslims say there is one god Allah. Christians and Jews say there is one God Jehovah. Ecumenism says that if you search your heart, you will see that this contradiction is no contradiction at all. There are many paths to God.

The Hope of the Second Coming of Christ

The Bible will clearly show you that Ecumenism is another of Satan’s lies, carefully worded and full of deceit. The Bible doesn’t say that it is possible to please all gods with our faith. It says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” That would be faith in Jesus Christ, not Allah or Vishnu. God’s Word clearly states that there is only one God, and beside Him there is no other (Isaiah 44:6).

 “You are my witnesses.

Is there a God besides Me?

Indeed there is no other Rock:

                                                                  I know not one.”

                                                                    Isaiah 44:8b

Our world is spiraling toward chaos, but as believers we are not afraid—so we prepare. The Bible assures us that the antichrist’s reign will be short-lived, and that Christ will return to establish His everlasting Kingdom. Stand firm in truth, and take heart: the King is coming.
